3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS ORANGUTAN TOUR (Central Borneo)
Day-1 PANGKALAN BUN – KUMAI – RIMBA LODGE (L, D)
Arrival in Pangkalan Bun, met by your local tour guide, assisted and transferred by airport taxi to Kumai boat stage, driving for about 20 minutes. Then, board on a traditional motorized wooden boat that locally called “klotok” and start ride across Kumai bay toward the beautiful Sekonyer River, about 15-20 metre wide and 7-8 meter deep. A stop will be made at Tanjung Harapan to arrange the travel permit to the National Park, and after approximately 2 hours riding on the Sekonyer arrive at Rimba Lodge, is a forest lodge with a group of long tailed macaques living on the trees around its 35 rooms, built on stilts, and all constructed from ironwood. Rimba Lodge Check-in at the lodge and enjoy afternoon observing the Proboscis Monkeys, being the endemic of Borneo. They usually return to the trees along the riverbank for their night rest. Return to the lodge for your overnight with dinner.
Day-2, RIMBA LODGE – PONDOK TANGGUI – CAMP LEAKY – RIMBA LODGE (B, L, D)
After breakfast, boating upstream for about an hour to Pondok Tanggui; is the second rehabilitation center. Walk for about 10 minutes on the boardwalk made of ironwood to the ranger post, and continue trekking for approximately 20 minute amid the real jungle to the feeding platform where you can enjoy seeing babies and juveniles Orangutans, taking pictures while having information from your guide about them. Afterwards, return to the boat to continue the trip to Camp Leaky, the historic research station at Tanjung Putting National Park. Ride for another 2 hours to get to the Camp, and the boat trip is becoming much more interesting when you entering the black-water river, the river narrows and when the weather is clear the water truly like a mirror, to give a perfect reflection of the blue sky and all the beauty of lush green trees along the riverbank. After lunch, continue the ride to the Camp Leakey to see the afternoon feeding.
Day-3 RIMBA LODGE “PANGKALAN BUN” OUT (B)
After breakfast, board on the boat and return to Kumai, and from Kumai directly transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your flight to Semarang.

4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS ORANGUTAN TOUR (Central Borneo)
Day 01: Pangkalan Bun Airport – Kumai Harbor – Tanjung Puting National Park
Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun airport meeting service and take you to Kumai Harbor by air conditioning car for 20 minutes then proceed to Tanjung Puting National Park area by traditional wooden river boat. It is 12m by 2,5m and called by “ Klotok”, there is small cabin, simple toilet and on upper deck you can see natural view of National Park area while you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with local snacks. After boating around 2 hours, you will be in Rimba Orangutan Eco Lodge. Just simple, you can choose to take dinner and over night at Lodge.
Day 02: Lodge/Boat – Camp Leaky
After breakfast, we will travel up the river by Boat to see Orangutan feeding time in Camp Leaky feeding station to see feeding time and orangutan education center at 14:00. Before, we arrive in Camp Leaky, you can observe river ecology and enjoy your lunch on boat while you see kind of wild animals on the river sides (Proboscis Monkeys, Birds, Sun Bears, Kind of Macaque and Wild Orangutan). Take Dinner and over night at Lodge or on Boat
Day 03: Lodge/Boat – Pondok Tanggui – Reforest Station – Traditional Village
After breakfast, we will travel up the river by Boat or Klotok to observe river ecology and see wild life as long as river side then stop in Pondok Tanggui Feeding station to learn about Orangutan habitat and see the rangers feed them at 09:00. After you enjoy natural view in this area then proceed to Pesalat reforest station to look reforest daily activities and learn about the famous of ‘iron wood’. Traditional Village of Tanjung Harapan to see villager activities. Overnight at Lodge.
Day 04: Lodge/Boat – Kumai Harbor – Pangkalan Bun Airport
After early breakfast, we will escort you to Kumai Harbor then proceed to Pangkalan Bun Airport to catch flight for your next destination.

KLOTOK is a slow moving boat, about 12 meter long and 2.5 meter wide with double-deck. Lower deck is for navigating room and space for crew’s activities preparing the food and for their night sleep, while the upper deck is for you to enjoy the view during this interesting river trip. The boat is equipped with only a basic standard toilet, a sitting closet, a small plastic bucket for washing and a rolled tissue, walled only as high as 1.5 meters and with no roof.
